Just couple days ago, I have called to one of my best friends on the Eritrean curriculum dept. in Asmara. I have called him just to know his current situation and to see the progress of the work they were up to. Our chat was general … But suddenly he changed his tone – and said, ‘… Now we have started new and serious programs. We are introducing the image of ‘freedom fighters’ ‘misli tegadelti’ on students; so what thoughts can you share up on that?’ he abruptly asked me. I replied, ‘what about ‘gauyla – tewedeb’ dances?’ He said, ‘that one is already in good progress!’ Well, what more can I say?! My FB Friends: Do you think the so called Ghedli in Eritrea has had any image to be endorsed to school children, other than what we see on the clip?! Did that had any tangible or intangible soft philosophy which they can inculcate on the poor children? And what about the age of the victims? I know my underprivileged friend on the curriculum dept. has no internet access, but if you have any sounding insights to give, I can call him back and forward your points.
