Just experienced one of the most heart wrenching days of my life. We moved Lynns brother today....packed up everything, followed the mover and unpacked at his new place. He was out all day with his caseworker. We met him at coffee before taking him to his new place...all was amazing until we arrived at the new apartment. He totally freaked out and became a threat to himself, fleeing down a heavily traveled road on foot....911, police, and such trauma for him. My heart is so broken for him. Demensia, Down syndrome, aging, so very sad to see in someone you love so dearly....when they cannot make safe and healthy decisions. At last, he is now settled, thanks to an amazing police woman from the Barrie Police Department (thanks Kiera) and a promise of our delivering Hawaiian Pizza tomorrow night. We have gone from being loved by him to being tolerated by him.
