Just finished American Sniper, and I have to say, it was a spot on - TopicsExpress

Just finished American Sniper, and I have to say, it was a spot on movie. It had generally good pacing, good acting, and the story focused on points where it needed too. Bradley Cooper did a spot on job as Chris Kyle and was amazing through the entire movie. When he felt something, you felt it too. If there was a kid about to pick up an RPG, you were begging with him not to pick it up, but at the same time we dont even give a damn and completely forgot about the dead man who just dropped it. When he was having a relapse of PTSD at his kids birthday party, and his wife was talking to him, you could hear his wife just fine, but you were so intent on following every single one of his actions in completely zoned out. The movie was gritty and real, it didnt spare the details of wounds but at the same time it didnt focus on it. It gave enough gore (which wasnt much) to leave an impact on you but it never glorified it. It gave weight to wounds that did happen and it didnt take much to make you cringe. I probably winced more at the wounds in that movie than every single SAW and Final Destination movie combined. The movie had great pacing most of the time, but there was points in it where it kinda throws him back in for another tour and it didnt give enough pre-lapse into it. Another thing I found fantastic was the rivalry and hatred between the two snipers, Chris and a rival enemy sniper who i cant remember the spelling to do I wont butcher. You could feel the friction between them. The movie was great overall and I recommend you see it. Tl:dr - American Sniper is a great movie, 9/10, its better than Taken. ~Sawyer
