Just finished a great poetry project with St Michaels CE Primary School in Bamford, Rochdale. Ive worked with this school lots of times in the past and as per usual I had a fantastic day. The focus theme for this particular project was Sound. Heres the sound poem that we created together as a class, just one of a multitude of high quality poems produced on the day. What was that? Arrrggghh! Is the sound I scream when I fall down on the yard Groan! Is the sound I whimper when Miss gives maths that’s far too hard Hey! Is the sound I shout when someone tries to steal my snack Oi! Is the sound I cry when bullies poke me in the back Grrrr! Is the sound I shriek when I get the blame for doing nothing wrong Eurrrrgh! Is the sound I whince when someone makes an awful pong Yesss! Is the sound I cheer when the bell goes off for morning break Mmmm! Is the sound I hum when Mum brings out the chocolate cake! Well done Year 4, Miss OBrien and Mrs James!
