Just finished a wonderful lunch and dishes now soaking in a sink - TopicsExpress

Just finished a wonderful lunch and dishes now soaking in a sink of ultra hot soapy water. Had a few sliced tomatoes left over from the huge batch I bought at the farmers market with my senior card, some fresh French bread I got for $1 loaf at Reasors (I prefer their fresh baked breads because of fewer preservatives, tastes better, and allows for flexibility in slicing - ultra thin for me, thicker for him - and it is usually cheaper than the prepacked brands) and the main dish of a 4 cheese creamy rice a roni with added tuna. Have enough left over for at least me a lunch...or two...and total cost was less than $4. I think I did well. We are full anyway even if not the healthiest meal (too much salt and fat) but hey, when you have to beg and borrow for your food you do the best you can. At least it was a hot meal and was not a sandwich! Sandwiches of some sort are our usual fare, sometimes with soup, sometimes with a salad, sometimes just the sandwich. I try to make sure we have a least one hot meal a day; however, there are days that he goes without eating because of all the pain he is in so I just have a sandwich or a salad and some fruit, etc.
