Just finished another chapter of an overdue book. Even given the delays, Im on track to finish, for the first time ever, two books in one year. Two and a half, actually. I had a lot of help. Ive hired more researchers than ever in my life. But in the end, its about applying rear end to seat and typing (or in my case, sometimes applying feet to floor at my standing desk). Ive been using the heck out of Scrivener and writing using what I call the Lego approach, meaning I write chunks of text and line them up in scrivener, moving them around within the framework of the chapter as needed. I create the Legos first and then move things around and write transitions between the sequences. Its been working well for me, and Scrivener has been a godsend, considering this particular book has dozens of individual one-on-one interviews plus research stats from outside sources plus material from a survey of 2500 people. Anyway, Im not bragging... more procrastinating. 2 more chapters to go, and one Lego left to create before I finish them. This will be one happy New Year.
