Just finished listening to Imprisoned With The Pharaohs - A Dark Adventure Radio Theatre presentation by The H.P.Lovecraft Historical Society. Imprisoned With The Pharaohs is perhaps one of the most intriguing of H.P. Lovecrafts tales. He ghost wrote it for Harry Houdini.back in 1924; and if memory serves me correctly, I remember reading in either Lovercraft: A Look Behind the Cthulhu Mythos bu Lin Carter or Lovecraft: A Biography by L. Sprague de Camp that Houdini hated the story that was attributed to him. Its a pity if true; because Imprisoned With The Pharaohs is a rousing adventure tale of ancient Egypt colliding with the modern world and Sean Branney and Andrew Lemon did their usual excellent job in adapting this offbeat Lovecraft tale into a gripping audio aventure. Imprisoned With The Pharaohs is a straight-forward adventure tale which chronicles a fictional visit Harry and Bess Houdini made to Cario at the height of their fame and the danger Harry encountered when he hits upon the novel idea of incoporating ancient Egyptian mummies and other relics in his magic show. Never a bright idea - as avid fans of the classic Universal Mummy movies will tell you. With this latest entry in its Dark Adventure Radio Theatre series, The H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society has continued to raise the bar of excellence in its audio performces which are sheer delightful ear candy. I eagerly await the next episode and so should you! STRONGLY RECOMMENDED! FIVE STARS!.
