Just finished up with the oncologist. Although I already knew, he confirmed that my mom is very sick. Her left lung is completely filled with fluid and there is a new finding of a masslike nodule against the pleural surface in the right upper lobe that is about 1.2 cm in size. He is scheduling a procedure to have the fluid removed and tested to see if he can determine from that whether it is indeed cancer or another micro bacterial lung infection like she had back in 2008. Either one is extremely serious for her. There are not many options for her if it is cancer and she is very weak to be able to fight off the infection if thats what it turns out to be. As we were leaving his office, she told me she really didnt understand what all he said and asked me if she had cancer again. I explained to her what the doctor said so she could understand it. She seems to understand and asked me to put her on the prayer chains at my church and hers. I have a lot on my plate over the next couple weeks and am dealing with a whirlwind of emotions right now. I sure would appreciate you lifting not only my mom up in your prayers, but me as well. Please pray that God will provide me with clear wisdom on how to handle some things coming up and that he will provide me with the strength I need over the coming weeks.
