Just finished watching American Sniper. First, thank you Lord for men like Chris Kyle. Second, I sit here wondering how much more I can do for my family, this country, and others around me. There is an enemy at work. Im not here to debate who that is or where it is. In truth it is all around us, it finds ways to enter into our minds, into our life and the lives of those around us. Evil exists. It makes us hate our neighbors, hate our families, hate ourselves. And what more can we do about it? And in quieting my thoughts, the words “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14 calms the overwhelming sense of inadequacy. Evil tries to hide your light. Tries to say its not enough to make a difference. But good says we are the light. That our light is used for those in our house, and when its allowed to shine, its for others to see it and come to for help. I may never accomplish what Chris Kyle did in his life, actually Im pretty certain I wont, but like him I can be a light for others. You can be that light too. So tonight I pray for the safety of my family, the safety of all those who fight and protect it with me, and for this country to be that light others turn to find.
