Just finished watching Saving Mr. Banks with Tom Hanks as Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as Pamela Travers, the author of Mary Poppins. It was an excellent movie of the story behind the making of the original Mary Poppins. The movie tells the story of the authors childhood in Australia, her fathers love for her and how his drinking lead to his death. In Mary Poppins the audience believes it is Mary Poppins who is sent to save the Banks children but in reality she is sent to save Mr. Banks.
