Just finished watching the new Annie with Javier, his mother, my nieces and sister. (Capitalist narrative of the comic strip, original and remake aside.) This movie was a great family film and so beautiful to see a young black and extremely talented girl in the lead role. Loved it and def recommend it. ***edit*** of course it comes as no surprise to me that some people are hating on the fact that the new Annie is black, some of those same folks got no problem with a white Jesus and dont see the irony or ignorance. So its whatever.
