Just for everyones information...Roosevelt was the FIRST city in the Basin to have a VETERANS MEMORIAL. It is at the Roosevelt City Cemetery and was dedicated 18 years ago by the Roosevelt City Mayor...There is a touching monument in place by the cemetery office and 50 flag poles surrounding the cemetery that flies the flag of the United States of America and a state flag representing the 50 states of our great country on days a veteran is buried in the cemetery. Monument, flag poles and flags made possible by donations and volunteers. Volunteers maintain the project and make sure the flags are up for the burial and down at sunset. There is a VETERANS MEMORIAL COMMITTEE that has been involved with this project for 18 years. Five individuals have done this service in -30 degree and +103 degree weather year around and are honored to have done so. We love America and our veterans!
