Just for you Jodie Roza Kos took me ages to do so you & the rest better read it We have spoken at length about this, i have yelled it, i have screamed it but now i decided to write it, fix this & you & the rest of my crew will be on the way to greater success. In order to bowl a good release you should start with the index finger forward into the release & then move to the intended axis of rotation. You must remain online with the intended target line. Your release has to move vertically down on to the lane & then be long horizontally (the followthrough we talk about) this will keep the fingers under the ball longer and will produce better rotational speed especially when the forearm is moving down the intended target line (not chicken wing) the release must be continuous from the start to the end of the intended axis of rotation, from the angular acceleration perspective. Specifically, the angular movement of the hand should be in sync with the horizontal movement. Unfortunately many bowlers complete the angular movement too quickly (trying to lift too early) thus diminishing the potential of a good entering release start position. I hope this helps.
