Just found out that my hometown music store is closing for good December 31st. The wave of sentimental emotion that has overcome me is tough to understand if you are not a musician. I learned a lot about instruments, listened to a lot of music, and made a ton of friends all by hanging out at this terrific place. When I worked at a music store, I tried to emulate my experience as a young man for all the young folks that came in to visit me. If I made even half the mark on people that David Daniels made on me, I accomplished my goal. Circle M Music & Recording Studio was a pivotal part of my growing up. The change in the retail music industry has made it increasingly difficult for small town music stores to stay in business. Online seems to have become the way of the world. God forbid you patronize a store where you can touch the guitar, visit with a salesman and receive support after the sale. I know its the way of the world but it makes me sad.
