Just found out that we will be getting Biere de Peach Barrel for our Mothers Day Beer Dinner at The Leary Traveler! Only keg in the state that I know of! Biere de Peach Barrel- 8.8% abv This is cellared Biere de Mars that we have laid down in a Peach Whiskey barrel from Leopold Brothers Distillery, We added a little more brettanomyces (for more FUNK!) and topped up the barrel with a dash of sour Felix from the foeders, then aged the liquid for 4 months. The combination of a golden peach hue with generous haze makes Biere de Peach glow. Subtle peach and pineapple funky aromas from the brettanomyces meld with warm notes like cinnamon, vanilla, and toasted oak, culminating in an experience not unlike that of a pineapple upside down cake! Candy-like sweetness is balanced well by a touch of fruity sourness and bitterness, yet lingers through the full-bodied, warming finish to remind you that yes, you definitely want more.
