Just found this Clip on Youtube. Do you remember the 88 Seoul Summer Olympics? I still remember my mother crying watching the opening ceremony. 88올림픽 기억하세요? 방금전이 이 동영상을 찾게 되었습니다. 아직도 올림픽 오프닝 보고 울고 계시는 어머니의 모습이 기억나요. It was maybe one of the few Olympics that helped to bring change to an autocratic system. The worlds attention was focused on Korea, the country transformed into a democracy afterwards, though it is difficult to measure how much the Olympics contributed to this. 아마도 독재 시스팀을 변화가 이루어지는대에 역활을 하는 올림픽이 서울 올림픽이 유일하지 않을까 싶습니다. 물론 구체적으로 따지기가 어렵지만 올림픽때문에 세계중심이 되어 결국에는 민주화 되었습니다. It gives comfort to know that the sacrifice of Kwangju eventually led to the end of the dictatorship. 광주의 희생이 허사가 되지 않고 결국 우리나라가 독재에 해방이 되어서 위로가 됩니다. And we should remember this and be alert to what happens in recent times. We owe it to those who have their lives for a free Korea. 기억을 함께 해주세요. 그리고 요즘에 있는 일에 대하여 관심을 가지시고 민주주의와 인권에대한 의식을 버리지 마세요 . 자유롭고 민주주의의 한국을위해 숨을 거두신 분을 위해서라도.
