Just going to give some information out. In june there came new rules on hedge cutting. You can only cut hedges from 01st september starting un 2015. There is some exceptions to this if some fields are getting crops in then may be able to cut early. Most hedges are only allowed to be cut every 3 years again unless its a road side hedge and may if causing danger be cut sooner. Farming remains the industry with the highest rate of fatal accidents. In 2012/2013 there was 29 deaths and my dad could have been one of these as hes approching 2 years in jan since his accident. In 2013/2014 the number dropped to 27 but this is to many deaths. Please take care and do not take risks or cut corners and never get to complacesent. On 01st december we have to do a sheep stock take and send it back to Defra. At anytime of the year there is break ins at any point but is worse at this time of the year. We have a lock up shed and never leave equipment out as we once had a chainsaw and cattle trailer taken so have learnt from this.
