Just gonna put it out there yall: some of you may have heard of a company called Vemma through their representatives/affiliates promoting a line of drinks called Verve. Ive been approached by a couple of different FRIENDS about Verve, so I wanted to put my faith in it. Heck, one friend even hooked me how with a sample of the products and it isnt bad yknow. Not saying Im a massive fan but it aint too bad. But something about Vemma seemed too shady. It may be the official drink of the Phoenix Suns, so it has that credibility, but its operations are too similar to a pyramid scheme for me to wanna jump in. For anybody who wants to know what a pyramid scheme is, basically a guy at the top gets money for every guy underneath him that signs up to receive a product. So if I sign three guys at £100 each (they pay a larger amount like £500 to join the scheme), Im in £300. Now if each of those guys signs up three guys, I get £100 from all of those signups so I get £900 in addition to my £300. Keep on going and youre balling, and all it cost you was about £500 to buy into it in the beginning. Sounds great right? Well, heres the issue...what happens if you cant find people? Or what happens if youre at the bottom of that chain? Suddenly youre down by a lotta money with only some products you dont fully want to show for it. Also, what happens if your scheme gets shut down for illegal activity? Or gets tied up in mad lawsuits? Money aint gonna be coming so easily... Now, thats not to say that Verve is a pyramid scheme, but the similarities are strikingly close. When I asked affiliates why is this NOT a pyramid scheme?, all they could tell me was dude, youre just gonna have to trust that its not. I cant help but have that nagging feeling that if I buy into it, I wont be coming out balling like only the top 1%. Success is only determined by how many people I sign up underneath me, and eventually theres gonna be some sucker at the bottom who definitely does not profit. Also, I noticed a trend in the affiliates. The ones who bought into it tend to be overly positive and enthusiastic about the product. They sing praises about it like crazy. I admire the enthusiasm, even if they dont truly believe in the product. And then it hit me. For all that love theyre putting into somebody elses product, they could just so easily be putting it into their own. And the same goes for me. Why should I hustle to get people to buy into Vemma and Verve when I could just as easily convince them to get interested in what I have to offer? Why not promote my music and comedy instead, and build my own following of fans from a product I can believe in? No disrespect intended to Vemma, but Id rather work hard for my own brand and money than work hard to build up yours. So yeah...in case you wanna sign up to Vemma, or already have, just meditate on this for a bit. Also, do a little research into Vemma. Its been banned as a pyramid scheme in Italy for example. Im gonna make money through pushing my YouTube channel, not Vemma :3
