Just got a call from Ari from MCRD (bootcamp). He arrived safely but not peacefully thanks to fiery Marine Corps Drill Instructors. LOL I didnt get to talk to him on the phone because recruits have to read off a phone call script. So no two way communication happens. All part of getting these young civilian guys into the mindset of following orders and executing their mission to completion immediately. But he was sounding just like a Marine recruit. I could hear the other recruits in the background sounding off. He didnt get any sleep last night/this morning, and they wont get to sleep until Wednesday night. So he will have gone almost four days without sleep. Hell need your prayers. From time to time I will post updates because I have a copy of his recruit training matrix. When I get his address, I will post it if anyone wants to send him a letter. No care packages unless its cookies. If you send him cookies, send enough for his entire platoon. He wont get to eat it if there isnt enough for all his entire platoon. Letters from his family and friends will be important and encouraging the next 13 weeks because he will be in bootcamp for Thanksgiving, his 21st birthday, Christmas and New Years. He will be graduating on January 30th. If you are interested in attending his graduation, hit me up and I can get information to you on the details. I bring it up now because for some it may require a little extra planning and preparation. Thank you for everyone who sent him blessings and encouragement before he departed. His mother and I are so proud of him. As someone who went through MCRD, I know Ari is going to do very well and have much success. Ari is completely at home with the physicalitys of bootcamp. Thank you again.
