Just got a call from The Rosebud. Seems her American History professor was bored today, and they spent the entire class time discussing Delta Blues; since he is well-regarded, well-versed and often-consulted in that particular discipline. She said that, while it was very interesting, she spent quite a bit of time laughing to herself, and shaking her head, thinking how much I would dig the lecture and discussion. Then she started throwing out names like Robert Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Son House, Muddy Waters; names shes heard her entire life, only now in an even broader context. I love this kid, I tell ya. She cracks me up! And, I feel very honored that she kept me in the blues loop.
