Just got a call from my great friend, Chief John Maracle. And hes off, next week to Wounded Knee, South Dakota. And you all know the story of Wounded Knee. My question for him: John - whats it like there? His answer: Aw, Jim......much of it is Hell on earth. There is some good & much of it is really bad. The Lakota Pine Ridge people should never, EVER, have been treated like they were. They were massacred & theyve never really come out of it.......proud people that they were. Americans should be greatly ashamed, forever! Chief John.......send them my/our love & try to give them the strength they need. You are one in a million, my brother.......
