Just got a crappy call one of my childhood best friends called to let me know that his Grandpa was hit by a car on his bike and killed. We have MANY great fishing memories with ole gramps and he showed me so much about fishing. I got my first 20lb king salmon with him, He showed me the ropes catching steelhead off the East Jordan dock and walleye too. I caught my first walleye on lake Bellaire with him through the ice and my first crappie as well. He was such an amazing hearted guy with 84 yrs of knowledge and I bet 80 of it fishing knowledge. I remember trolling for brown trout in Petoskey with a hot n tot and he hooked the biggest smallmouth bass Id ever seen!! I remember him saying there were some BIG smallmouth in there but if I knew then what I know now about that fishery we would have been stopping and actually targeting them toads up there lol. Gosh I remember so much and I think it is safe to say that he was a huge part in me becoming a professional fisherman and fisherman I am today. He will be missed and please prayers for my friend Michael Musser. He has lost so much family this yr including his Dad and not taking this well. Hang in there bud love ya.
