Just got a reply from our local councilor regarding the vacant school site and what is going to be happening with it in the future. Dear Mr Alexander I am responding on behalf of Cllr Barney Crockett regarding the matter you raised with him in March of this year concerning the issue that the Old Bankhead Academy site had been proposed as a traveller’s site. Apologies for the delay in getting back to you but Cllr Crockett had been awaiting an officers response. We are now in a position to advise that the former Bankhead Academy site is one of three being considered as potentially suitable for the location of a new build Stoneywood School. A public consultation on this proposal will start in January 2015 and will allow any interested parties to respond to the City Council with their comments on the matter. There is no proposal to use the site as a use for a travellers site. I hope this clarifies the matter for you, and once again I apologise for the delay is getting a response to you.
