Just got done watching both the losses to the Steelers and the Ravens again. Sigh. This is what I am seeing. Our Hog Mollies and our Monsters are getting punked at the line of scrimmage. Here is what I am seeing: C Kalil: His rock solid technique is suffering now because he is over compensating helping out our guards. Playing against 3-4 nose tackles he is getting turned sideways and not able to get his body between the ball carrier and the defender. G: Silatolu Turner and Velasco: No consistency. They have their moments where they all are dominating their blocking assignments. Then they will simply just have poor angles and bad technique. When they combo block on a DT they are not sliding off to the next level at LB. T: Bells passing blocking technique is simply horrible. He waits far too long to engage the defender because he is waiting to see what pass rush move the DE will use. His hips are not sunken in to establish that strong base to neutralize. Only silver lining is that he is a good run blocker mostly. Chandler is simply struggling with speed guys. Gives the effort you want but simply is outmatched and at times over powered. DTs and DEs: All of them are reacting to the blockers after engaging instead of attacking the blockers and maintaining gap responsibilities. They are letting the O-linemen turn their hips and leaving gaping holes. They are not disrupting the blocking schemes consistently enough to demand double teams on order to keep our LBs free to roam. They are not winning their one on one blocks to make plays. **LBs: Simply put they are missing tackles at the LOS with a lot of arm tackles and not squaring up. They are also struggling with getting off blocks as well.
