Just got good news from ECMC. My labs from this morning were really good and my creatinine level is at .9. That means my estimated gromerular filtration rate is 65 which places me in stage 2 kidney disease and mild kidney damage. This is the best result Ive had since my transplant 5 months ago. Bean is doing a great job! Dr. Patel was thrilled, as there was great concern post-transplant that Bean might not ever perform adequately due to a defect and the stress he suffered when my donor was on life support. I still am dealing with wound healing problems, fluid around my heart and potentially threatening mucosal thickening in my stomach, but the fact that Bean is doing so well is awesome news. Thank you, Paul, for your gift of life. Rest in peace.
