Just got home a few minutes ago from Dr. Jollys office---Mom got full bloodwork today, and overall, the results were very good. Her INR (ability for blood to clot) is high based on the initial test, but once the more comprehensive tests results come back from the lab, they will make adjustments as needed to her blood thinner meds. Got a plan now for PT to help her build up muscles and slowly reduce fluid from the fever and blood clots---learned today it could take 6 months for those to completely dissolve. Also blessed that Tamara, who is not only an amazing nurse but a phenomenal counselor, too, gave Mom (Dad and I, too) some very wise words of encouragement. After the last few sleepless nights, I feel better about where we are and that we can work through this setback. Still waiting for physician transfer but comforted to know Tamara is and will continue to be our advocate, our compass.
