Just got home from a long day at city hall for the June youth council meeting. I submitted a motion against expanding the Toronto island airport which is in my ward. I was very happy to hear many of my fellow youth councillors voice their opposition to the airport expansion. Unfortunately my motion was deferred until porter and friends finish their reports. I was disappointed the question was called after those in favour of the deferral spoke. Those who were against the deferral didnt get a chance to speak. It is one thing to disagree with someone, but it is another thing to prevent them from speaking by ending debate. CYCTO has room to improve.
