Just got my grade for my last English 1 paper entitled Reading Journal 1-----Another 100 ...thats 3 100s out of 5 assignments in this course with the other two being a 95 and a 92.....heres the last paper......Reading Journal 1 Understanding the concept of narration in reading and writing is a major element of writing an effective narration essay. When using narration for the writing of an effective essay, make sure first that you understand who your audience is and decide how you will relate to them the primary purpose of your essay. As you consider the beginnings of your storyline be prepared to give a clear purpose of the narrative. You should always want to bring the reader mentally into the described events that will take them within a direction of a specific understanding. Consider that a good narrative story should always shorten the routine facts while at the same time prolonging the exciting parts for the movement of the reader. Of course the very first thing or rather the starting point of any project is to choose a subject. Develop and concentrate on a point of view using precise details of that are related to the purpose of the essay. Once choosing a subject and developing a viewpoint, make yourself a list of details that supports the purpose of the narrative. Analyze and organize them within a manner that will smoothly move the reader from episode to episode. Use your thesis statement as a choice of details and a guide to control the paper. Be aware of the reading and writing narration essentials and use the five W’s (who, what, when, where, and why) and one H (how) while proceeding into the body of the paper. Guide the reader thoughts by using a series of time sequences as you begin and resume near the finish of your essay. In the final phase be sure to look closely in review of your project and locate potential errors in the visuals you have put forth. Don’t forget to include in the conclusion a summary of all details and how they are relevant within your essay. Description Using description in an essay will serve well as a complement to any essay that has been set within a narrative form. Descriptions magnify, clarify, and provides to the reader a distinct visualization of what you the writer are trying to relate. Description communicates with the reader and visualizes to him a specific impression of people, objects, places, and events. Using a good descriptive phrase when adding to your narration can influx the reader with a feeling of the situation therefore helping the reader to being able to respond to it. Whether you are using description to add to a narrative, or just creating a descriptive essay, a good descriptive format begins with the writer producing a draft that has a dominant impression. As you brainstorm your dominate impression generate the works that will cover the five human senses. By using the senses of smell, touch, sight, sound, and taste, a writer can easily entice his readers to a sense of feeling of what has been written. Use details and descriptive words that show and become real rather than being one of whom is merely telling a story. Similar to narration, description essentials should engage within the senses of the reader feelings with a consistent point of view, a time sequenced organization, and bottom line logical conclusions. This is easily done when the writer employs figurative language such as simile’s and metaphors. As always editing is the writing process’s final phase. Take note to remember that the most effective way of correcting your mistakes are by your own development to recognize and understand them. Process Analysis In life a practiced and preserved process analysis can have a huge effect on the quality of one’s existence. Learning the art of process analysis whether one uses it in life or in writing is a tool of mastering one’s ability to form sound and good communication. A good essay in use of process analogy can truly lead a reader to see things from another point of view. This essay will explain an action or an event in timed sequence as it concentrates on a physical or mental operation. There are two types or forms of process analysis. We have the informative process analysis which provides information about the how of it works or how it happened, and we have the directive process analysis which adjusts to explain how to do something. When using either of these forms consider the process analysis essentials which are your overview, your purpose statement, the logical organization of the process or event, and the adding of an effective outcome description at the end. Similar to a narrative essay or a descriptive essay, writing a process analysis begins with the author settling on a subject and generating details that will support the essay. Leading with a viable introduction states an overview that will generate details. These details will later be added to the body of your paper. Process analysis writers must always adhere to the process analysis essentials of writing and reading while in the process of developing the essay. When the paper is finished, as always revise and edit it and when needed, or if needed consult with a reputable handbook for an explanation of any problems.
