Just got off the telephone. The most amazing conversation. I met a guy yesterday in my ever growing adventures into freeganing and furniture repurposing via Craigslist. I bought a great table from him to restore. He noticed my signature on my e mails and called me back today because he is a poet and author interested in getting some of his stuff published. Great conversation. High school guidance counselor who deals in furniture on the side. Tomorrow I am going back to his place to pick up a killer bookshelf. Taking him a signed copy of Squid Whores (signed in squid ink) and bringing back a bunch of his stuff to read. I love networking. AND he has a friend who is a cartoonist! Things somehow seem to occasionally fall into place just right. Only this morning I get a fan letter suggesting Squids would be great as a graphic novel. Divine intervention? Perhaps. I just have to be careful here - I must admit I did cringe momentarily when he said he was a poet ...
