Just got out of jail this morning after a wonderful action taking over the intersections of Wall Street and Broadway yesterday- with arrests happening right around dusk after a full day holding the space with thousands of inspiring comrades, including many new friends who were risking arrest for the first time. We were there to say that Wall Street cannot fix the climate crisis- that its attempts to do so will be in the same brutal way that they used to get us into this mess. The solutions are with the indigenous peoples, small farmers, urban workers, migrants, neighborhood committees, and allies that are most affected by displacement and exploitation -- not with the capitalist bankers and their bought politicians who have exploited us for hundreds of years. We have a lot of work to do to remake the climate justice movement as an inclusive and powerful community-based movement led by those who have been dispossessed by capitalism, against corporate destruction of our global neighborhoods. Yesterday was just one inspiring step in that direction. #FloodWallStreet #peoplesclimate
