Just got this email from my mom... I just got a call from Darryl. The oil leak is coming from two places: somewhere in the timing cover (where the timing belt lives) and around the valve cover gaskets. So, we are in essence talking about doing the full timing belt replacement which usually runs about $1,000 from my past experience. Then, add in the cost to replace the water pump, and Darryl is recommending doing a full-tune up to replace the spark plugs and etc since the car will be pretty much taken apart and he couldnt see anything in his records for having done a tune-up recently. The total cost: $2,035 So... Ill be burning calories for the next few days.
