Just had a 56 minute phone call with Brittany Owens. The call and 2 hours of recruit heaven (fast food, internet access, ect) were rewards for nailing Hell Week. Here is a breakdown of the past week.... Monday-PI AND WTI -5.0 Tuesday-PSA-passed, DMI (bunk makeup)- 5.0, simulated fire of weapon-1 pt from perfect-EXPERT! Wednesday-Live Fire-got Marksman! Was actually mad about this cause of the expert on the simulated the day before. She earned a ribbon for her uniform. Only 33/80 in the division earned this and said very few were girls. Thursday-practice for drills and picture day! Friday-written test #2-got a 4.92/5, Drill Inspection-earned a flag and also independent steaming( her div can now march place to place without RDC accompanying them and get to sing cadence. Saturday -B.A.S.E.S She is Head Petty Officer for her Division! She is also in charge of the recruits that clean the bathrooms and it is her responsibility to make sure it is done correct., She says it is stressful. Told her she has had years of OCD practice growing up with me. Would like everyone to burn a blue candle for Brittany on the 6th for luck and support! she sounded awesome and is loving military life! She has requested a list of things be brought to graduation and the top of the list was regular underwear, socks and bras lol....even before phone! I cant tell u how proud I am of her. The next biggie is Battlestations 21. HOOYAH!
