Just had a conversation with one of my friends from Greece, who wanted to clear out the reasons for current situation in Ukraine. Since I witnessed the start of the protests myself Ive decided to share some info with you, my friends. If you are not clear on how all this mess started in Ukraine you can read the following: We dont want to be a part of Russia! Well I witnessed the beginning of protests. Everything started when our former president Yanukovich didnt sign the treaty about Ukraine-EU Association. Since we were planning to enter EU eventually a lot of student especially from my city of Lviv (Western Ukraine) went to the capital to protest against that decision. The unsigned treaty meant that in the nearest future we would get closer to Russia and say ‘Goodbye’ to our European dream. This protests were not supported by the majority of ppl thats why in couple of days theyd have been finished but during one of the nights the jerk-president Yanukovich sent the riot police to force students to leave the main square of the capital and then everything started....Student were severely beaten… At that time I and my friends also came to join the protests in Kyiv but we were lucky to stay overnight at my friends house in Kyiv. The next day when everyone got to know what happened at night a lot of ppl from Kyiv join the protests as well. Despite the fact that they didnt support the EU membership they just could stand the cruelty and banditism of the Yanukovich. It was such a great feeling to see so many ppl that gathered within an hour to fight for their rights and express their thoughts against tyranny. And then ppl from all over Ukraine started coming to Kyiv and forcing Yanukovich to resign. But he didnt want to leave the power and with the help of Russian snipers killed up to 100 men. Some of them were shot in head, neck, burnt or tortured naked in the freezing cold weather. Half of the killed were 20-30 aged boys. And finally we made Yanukovich resign. But Putin couldnt allow Ukraine to get its freedom that ‘easily’. And now we have Russian army in Crimea (Ukraine)!!!
