Just had a dozen on the half shell and a flashback. I was About 5 years old, on a Saturday with Dad at Andrews Oyster Bar. Setting on an old stool at the bar, listening to the grownups talk while I drank the coldest bottle of Coke I believe I have ever had. I watched the men eat oysters, I asked Dad what they tasted like. I remember when he asked if I wanted to try one, the room got quiet and all the guys looked at me to see my answer. When I said I wanted to try one everyone gathered around Dad and I to see my reaction when I put it in my mouth. The lady behind the bar shucked a small one and Dad dipped it in his ketchup and hot sauce mixture and put it on a cracker. I ate that one and a few more and have been hooked since. Good memories.
