Just had a talk with Pastor Val Murillo of Covenant Baptist Church, Iligan City and he was telling me of the good of news of some of the pastors who attended the BIBLEMODE regional conference with emphasis on Cheerful Giving. 160 pastors attended the conference many of them I have seen for the first time. Some of those pastors said, because of cheerful giving I dont even need to go abroad to raise money because I can raise it right here among my people. Im so thankful for that and thats what I have been telling for many years. My message, THE CULTURE OF STEWARDSHIP AND THE CORE VALUE OF GENEROSITY, I believe broke the camels back so to speak. It is just so unfortunate that some pastors instead of looking at what the Lord is doing in our churches because of cheerful giving, they would rather criticize and speak of unkind words toward me. Im not young anymore, been in the ministry 46 years. Respect and honor should be our character as pastors. I have no other desire but to see our churches grow and get blessed. We now can change our mind set from a dole out mentality attitude to the attitude of generosity(2 Corinthians 8 & 9. We can now stop the 3 common character of our churches which are STRUGGLING, SURVIVING AND SELFISH to CHEERFULLY GIVING, HELPING AND SHARING. Let us help each other put a stop to negative attitude, the talangka mentality and and let us push each other up and reach out to those in need. Galatians 6: 1-6.
