Just had a thought about the closure and re-routing of the road. Does the current road in front of the power station belong to this Spanish company or has it been adopted by east lothian council? Not sure if there is anything in this but a passing comment from someone suggested that if a road had been a public one for over a certain number of years, it could not be taken away without public agreement? Also Ive been looking at the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 and if Im reading correctly, turning Appin Drive etc into a main B road will require significant public consultation and agreement. I bought my house in Atholl View (just off Appin Drive) as I didnt want to be on a main road. Now it seems, I wont have the choice of whether I live near a main road or not! The proposals for the energy park is one thing but its impact is not contained to proposed site! Surely we have a right as to whether a main road is build through our houses?
