Just had an amazing conversation with an older Chinese Malay man on the street corner. Talked about equity versus equality and the decline of humanity because of it. Told me about the history of his clan and how his family immigrated and settled here because of the bandit raids in China. Also, his grandmother forced his own mother to continue to have children until there were enough boys to carry on their lineage. His parents had ten children, because of this he stopped at two. In reference to children, he said "quality over quantity." Then he asked me where I was from, and I said "America." He said, "No, where are your roots? You must honor your roots." Oh, if he only knew. #KTRA All day.
