Just had an incredible distressing experience down at Deansgrange NCT centre with my own car. The tester handled my car so roughly that he damaged the steering. I was watching him through the window and thought he was trying to break the steering lock he was that rough with it. I had to go in and get someone out to stop him. They passed the car but made up some vague excuse that there was a problem with the steering lock but I know there wasnt. And I asked if there was why didnt they fail it? To me this indicates a huge lack of training on the NCTs part. Needless to say I will be complaining and they will be getting the repair bill. I urge everyone to watch their cars getting tested from now on!
