Just had morning (mid day, haha) rounds. Sawyers breathing is much less laborious than yesterday! His wheezing has reduced to minimal and the morning Xray looked clear, no pneumonia or infection after all! Yay! The only hiccup is that his saturations drop too low when he sleeps, which means he requires oxygen support. Have to be able to get through a night without oxygen in order to go home. Hoping tonight is that night! If your kids are sick, please keep them home from school! Especially now that we know virus season has officially began. His first symptom was a funny nose but it quickly became wheezing and labored breathing (retracting). Not all kids will need medical attention, as there is little treatment for viruses but they are instructing people to head to the doctor if they see labored breathing.
