Just had this conversation with my cousin Lee Harders who s husband was on the force for almost 20 years. We must value and pay our officers commensurate with the job their ask to do , and with what is happening in this state. On the average our officers get paid 20% les and when looking at SF its more like 40% less. We are also throwing good money away by hiring 160 officers last year and 170 this year, spending on training them and then losing them to other cities. Next time we vote keep this in mind and keep in mind that a pension for our retired or fallen officers is not rediculous.
