Just heard Glenn Beck losing his shit about Rand Paul apparently saying something about the GOP needing to back off Voter ID as its pissing people off. (Not to mention they keep losing court cases about it.) This illustrates the serious problem facing any conservative candidates now. They cant even back away from obviously poisonous issues and horrible bad ideas because the moment they do so, they get branded a RINO, a sellout, a panderer to the left, etc.etc. How they are going to get an actual, reasonable candidate with a ghost of a chance to win the Presidency, I have no idea. They also seem to KNOW theyre doing this to themselves and cant stop it anyway. Anytime any voice is raised on even a single issue and says, Hey, maybe, just maybe, this isnt a good platform choice right now theyre pilloried, to the point where they arent going to bother trying anymore...and the process will just get crazier and crazier. (Id make a Crazy Train/off the rails reference but Im about to drop a prog-rock reference I like better and dont want to mix metaphors and musical genres.)
