Just heard that TX still lags behind in ACA sign up! I know you all teach the whole student, not just test prep, so I figure that teachers are the best people to get the word out: Monday, March 31st is the deadline to sign up for ACA health plans. But tell your students if their family is in the system (i.e., has an account on healthcare.gov) then they have until April 14th to pick a plan. And heres the economics behind it--- The government spends huge amounts of money subsidizing hospitals for uninsured patients---but no one sees this, especially the anti-ACA people. The ACA shifts the burden from taxpayers (us) to private industry (insurance). In the long run, this will lower our deficit and strengthen us financially. Which is why these laws were favored by mainly conservative groups until partisan politics got into the mix----oh Congress! If they would only stop acting like 5-yr-olds!
