Just in case any of you have still yet to hear the very disheartening news of the day, I will let you in on it. Now, before I tell you what it is, I want to give you a little backstory if you will. Every generation has multiple failure stories, but, theres always that one guy, that one woman who puts all the previous stories theyve heard aside, from youll never make it, to youre not good enough, youre not big enough, youre just one person, and says, I can make it. I CAN do it and that is what this person did. In 1992, this young man comes in to a big pressure situation and takes what wasnt exactly all there and made it complete. there were some things missing in this decent team and, with help from another fantastic innovator, takes not only his team but THE ENTIRE SPORT OF NASCAR to a whole new level. He has formed a foundation to help sick kids and hes helped save countless kids overcome cancer and other sickness along those lines. He helped struggling drivers, who had a Busch series team go under and had no place else to go, and gave some of them, one in particular, a place to go and truly mature and blossom and dominate. He is the sole reason why we currently have a six time champ in our sport that is still with us and driving. Yes, obviously I am talking about Mr. Jeff Gordon. Unfortunately he has made a decision at the end of this 2015 season, to hang up his helmet. He raced his very first ever cup race the same day that The King raced his last. He raced against the Intimidator and WON multiple times. I guess what Im really trying to say is he is a true leader, mentor and legend of this sport and without him, this sport would not be CLOSE to being as great and popular as it is, and you can dispute that if you so choose but you all know when it comes to NASCAR, Im never wrong so your attempts would be futile. It all comes down to this.............Thank you................Thank you Mr. Gordon for all the memories, all the races, all the struggles that youve been through especially in recent years, and thank you for giving all the young drivers and children of this country a role model........sorry, a GREAT role model to look up to. You will most deffinatly be missed out there on the track after this season. Thank you as well for bringing my favorite driver in to the cup series as well. I never want anyone but Jimmie Johnson to win the championship but I do have to say this....................How about this year, you go out there, and you have yourself one HELL of a season and you get your number 5! Ill be pulling for you this entire year. Im behind you no matter what. I believe in you, I know a lot of other fans of yours that believe in you and I know you DAMN SURE believe in you. You got this. This is your year. One more time...........THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
