Just in case anyone is under the false pretenses that I have it all together, I invite you to come and sit with me in my messy kitchen while I tell you how this morning I spilled honey cough syrup all over my daughter--in her hair, on her clothes, on the bathroom rug and tile floor--resulting in the need for a shower and her being 20 minutes late for school....how yesterday I drove to Old Navy to find something warm for the baby to wear since she has no winter clothes, and realized while parking that June had no shoes on so I walked her through the store while barefoot and pretended like it was what I meant to do....how last night after my son accidentally shattered the screen on Bens ipad, I suggested to him he set up a hot chocolate stand to help pay for some of the cost to repair the screen and he yelled, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I COULD DO THAT! and in good-mom fashion I threatened to sell all of his Christmas presents....how Im on day 3 of no shower....how my bedroom is full of clean laundry my mom washed over a week ago and I still havent put them away....how Im ready to set fire to the second-hand furniture weve bought because their drawers keep falling apart and I swear Im going to lose it if it happens ONE MORE TIME....and how the cookies you and I have just eaten while Im telling you all of this are the Christmas treats Ive baked for our neighbors that I havent had the time to deliver. And hopefully well have a good laugh, and know that this time is hard and rewarding, and pushes us to our limits, and were doing the best we can, and who really likes the person who has it all together anyway?
