Just in case anyone thinks that I am against these STAAR exams because I dont think my kiddos can pass them, let me assure you that that is not the case. My daughter has a 3.94 gpa and passed them easily last year, even though she is dyslexic. My son has not taken one, but is an A/B student. I am against them because so much of school is solely focused on passing this exam. I am against them because it does not matter what your childs gpa is, if they dont pass these tests in high school, they supposedly dont get to graduate. I am against them because they are being forced down our childrens throats, yet we cant know what they are feeding them. Okay, thats all for now... Hopefully I can get refocused on the other things I need to worry about soon! Haha :)
