Just in time for the holidays, and a wonderful gift to the Center, our new Smith Family Nutrition Center is completed and open for business! Our generous donor broke ground on the site one year ago at our 2013 open house... and this year, at the 2014 Holiday Open House, our members and visitors got their first peek. We built our previous feed room 12 years ago when we had 14 great apes here. And we made it big enough to store food and prepare diets for up to 25 apes -- (in case we ever grew in residents! - LOL) But today, with 45 great apes living at the Center, and more on a waiting list to come here... we needed more space. So, our friend and donor Greta Smith saw this need and helped us in a big way! The Smith Family Nutrition Center was built in memory of her father Maurice Smith and her mother Ethel Smith. Thank you Greta!
