Just keep going, says De Villiers After doing a stellar job of captaining the Springboks, Jean de Villiers found himself in somewhat unfamiliar territory when he spent most of Western Province’s crucial Currie Cup clash against the Sharks on the replacements’ bench. Not that he minded, in fact he was only too glad to take a back seat for a while after what has been an incredibly busy season which saw him going from the Stormers to The Springboks, back to Stormers, back to Springboks, then now Currie Cup. After this he will go back to the Springboks and then end his year off with the Barbarians. In an exclusive interview, MyPlayers asked the Springbok captain is he felt those changes in a season. “Not really,” he answered. “You just have to keep going. “Rugby is rugby and it’s all basically the same, but sometimes it’s nice to have a few changes every now and again and to be in a different environment with different players,” said De Villiers. “As much as I enjoy playing for the Stormers and Western Province it is equally great to be in the Springbok environment and catching up with my friends there. “It’s almost a situation where it’s great to be a Springbok and you love playing Super Rugby, but you would prefer to only play against overseas teams and not come up against your friends in other local
