Just learned (from a review) that the Galaxy ProTab 10.1 automatic brightness setting can actually be tweaked with the slider. After checking the auto brightness box (settings->display->device->brightness), touch/hold the slider button and move it left/right. So if you generally like the screen fairly bright, as I do, you can have it that way while it still automatically adjusts to ambient light. Nice.
