Just left the doctor. No cancer, thank The Lord. However, we have some sad news. Mom has something called Radiation Fibrosis. Her neck and back muscles and bones have atrophied and she has compression of her spinal cord as a result of the radiation and chemo years ago. Its caused extensive body weakness, neck drop, foot drop, and neurological issues all over her body. She is really sick. This is a long term affect of radiation, and unfortunately cant be cured. There is one specialist in the nation named Dr. Stubblefield, and he is in New York City. He helps bring some quality of life to his patients. Theyve sent her files to him and we have an appointment on April 21st. Pray that he can help ease her symptoms and help her get some quality of life back. On a good note- Theyre going to give mom fluids in the morning---shes still extremely dehydrated. They ordered us Zofran, and are looking into a shot that helps parts of her body that isnt working. Dr. Munjals office is so supportive of mom going to New York---unfortunately she is the worst case theyve ever seen. Theyre interested to see how and what they do for her so maybe they can help others in the future. We will take one day at a time.
