Just looking over the poll numbers concerning the huge boost to Independents and others against the main party establishment. I think the environment is ripe for those on the left to think strategically and find a way to come together in order for the numbers to work. The only thing now keeping the main parties from suffering a wipe out is the lack of a cohesive left force. Too many party groups and independents are running on their own agendas, sometimes so narrow in scope that they fail to realise that most of what they complain about can be linked back to the enforced bank bailouts and resulting austerity. I dont know if egos are involved that prevent these differing parties from aligning themselves into one strong body but I will tell you this: It HAS to happen or else we will see a Fine Gael/Fianna Fail Government of hell come the next election. They wont relinquish their grip that easily you know. So I am speaking to the various party groups, the so called others, that have sprung up over the last few years, the Anti Austerity Alliance, People Before Profit, Socialist Workers Party, Direct Democracy Ireland, Irish Democracy Party, Fis Nua, the Technical Group in the Dáil, and of course the Independents themselves. You have to find a way to work in unison or you just will not reach the required quota to beat the system. This is your big chance to shine. I suggest you strike while the Irish Iron is hot....
